F.A.F.O Art by KLH

Mission/Inspiration Statement:

The "It's Mine Not Yours" collection comes from an artistic place surrounding the current political circumstances that women in the United States are facing, with the overturning of Roe v Wade.  It is the artistic and creative way for me to speak my mind, and to hopefully allow others to also share their point of view.  It is a very bold statement in a time when it needs to be heard.  The front of the shirt displays "HEY" (I'M TALKING TO YOU) with a bold pointing finger calling out the nickname of a specific state or the United States in general.  There are 18 states done, so far, with more to come.  Each State has a specific ban against the right for a woman to choose what happens with her own body, which should always be her choice as a human being.  The back of the shirt represents the flag colors of the United States, with the figure of a woman and the words "IT'S MINE NOT YOURS".

Artist Statement:

My name is Kathryn L Hale and I am a self taught artist.  Art is an energy and I believe it comes from a place that exists beyond your human senses, its emotion.  Creating art has always been a passion of mine, but painting, using acrylics and oils on canvas, stole my heart.  The use of my fingers and paintbrushes are the way that I create my style of Abstract.  With a very wide array of subjects, including what I believe are souls, to nature, to anything I am truly passionate about, my art comes to life through the experiences and many souls that have touched my life, in one way or the other.  I began my journey with Art at a young age, but truly felt it when I moved to Kansas City, KS at 21, where I lived 18 years.  Truly embracing being an Artist, 4 short years ago.  Painting has been my form of therapy in every way and changed my outlook on life.  Creating something you believe in, can change how your mind works.  For now, my focus is on my "IT'S MINE NOT YOURS" collection, painted on canvas and being printed on clothing.  In the future, I will continue to create based on everyday situations and experiences, along with whatever ideas are sent to me
